When destiny turned casual conversations into commitment

Navreet and Uday weren’t actively searching for love. But when something is meant to be, the universe aligns it gently. What began as easy conversations turned into a steady companionship. One day, Navreet casually asked, “Do you think we’ll get married?” and Uday replied, “Wasn’t that the plan?”

A Comfortable Celebration in Every Way

For the bride, comfort was the moodboard. She envisioned a celebration that felt easy, joyful, and deeply personal. Her mamaji played an instrumental role, turning even her most whimsical dreams into reality with the reassuring words: “Jive tenu chahida, oda hoju.”

A pastel pink lehenga with a story stitched in

Navreet had known designer Ginni Mander since the early days of Inara by Ginni Mander. Having regularly ordered suits from her, their relationship was already warm and personal. One day, while inquiring about a non-bridal piece, Ginni casually said, “I don’t know when you’re getting married, but I’m making your lehenga.” That line stayed with Navreet — and when the time came, she chose Inara without hesitation.

They settled on a soft pink-peach shade that perfectly complemented her skin tone and the calm elegance she envisioned. “I wanted to do pastels and keep everything minimal, well, at least as minimal as a Punjabi bride can,” she says with a smile.

Uday’s look was thoughtfully curated too. They chose a pistachio green sherwani by Roohdaar India, which paired beautifully with her lehenga and reflected a quiet kind of sophistication.

Reception glamour in a Mohsin Naveed Ranjha moment

For the reception, Navreet wanted to go all out. After months of scrolling through designer pages, she experienced what she calls “love at first sight” when she saw a statement piece by Mohsin Naveed Ranjha. The rich silhouette, detailing, and colour palette instantly felt right. When her outfit arrived, she video-called Uday, who was in India at the time. His response was “Boht sohna, but main ki pauna? I can’t match this.”

Eventually, Uday found the perfect complement to her look — a custom-made suit from Noble Stitch Atelier. He had a vision in mind, and they brought it to life with precision.

The wedding took place at favourite venues close to the heart

The Anand Karaj was held at Starview Resorts in Sri Muktsar Sahib, while the reception was at The Amaltas Farms. “I had attended weddings at both venues before, so choosing them was a no-brainer.” But the most special location of all? Her own village, Kundal near Fazilka, where the pre-wedding festivities were hosted. “I would not choose any other place over it.”

Makeup That Withstood a 19-Hour Day

When it came to her bridal beauty looks, Navreet had clarity. “Even before I had a wedding date, I knew who my makeup artists would be Shaireen and Kaira Vermani.” From the roka to the wedding day, Shaireen created three distinct looks, including a bold-eyed bridal look designed to last through tears. “I applied it at 7 a.m. and removed it at 2 a.m. and it didn’t budge.”

Reception day was Kaira’s canvas. She had creative freedom, and when Navreet looked in the mirror, she felt as though she was “wearing a filter in real life.” Hairstylist Aman created a high Barbie ponytail with waves, a vision Navreet had carried for months.

Choosing the perfect photographer who just got it

“Choosing a photography team was the hardest part,” she says. It wasn’t until she spoke to Mohit from Friends Photography Patiala that she felt confident. His words — “Jo tusi karna jiwe karna, apa oda karna” — sealed the deal. Their pre-wedding shoot, same-day edit, and highlight film have received constant praise.

Why Documentary-Style Wedding Photography is a must?

Unforgettable Emotions and One Epic Performance

Among the most emotional moments was the palla ceremony. “Seeing my father’s raw emotions, sitting beside Uday in the Gurudwara, and saying goodbye during the doli — I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much.”

The couple also had a memorable musical moment thanks to a live performance by Manmohan Waris. “We danced for three hours straight and still didn’t want to stop.”

“Koka” by Waris Sahib became the anthem of their celebration, sung live and played on repeat.

The Only Thing That Didn’t Go as Planned

Navreet was unwell on the wedding day, but even a high fever and multiple Advils couldn’t dull her spirit. “That day, despite everything, was still the best day of my life.”

The Bride’s Advice to Future Couples

“Plan with intention. Don’t just choose vendors because of their following — make sure they align with your vision. And girls, don’t wait for your partners to get things done. Just handle it yourself or the wedding will pass and they still won’t have picked an outfit.”

What Marriage Means to Them

For Navreet and Uday, marriage is about daily choices. “Fights happen — some I win, some Uday wins. Sometimes no one wins, and that’s okay. Ego should never win over love. We try not to complicate things. It’s simple. We chose each other.”
