We did an exclusive interview with the founders of Aafreen and talked about their latest bridal collection Rani Bagh’ 24 . Read this interview to learn more about it.
Q. Tell us something about your Brand and the founding team.
Navneet Kaur(This Biotechnologist, Upsc Aspirant turned Fashion Designer and Pro Makeup Artist, Holds a degree of Masters in Biotechnology & was a UPSC Aspirant who cracked her Prelims and Mains to become an IAS officer)
Arpan Singh Brar (High court Advocate who has a political Background steps into the world of fashion completely out of passion and is here to rule)
Founded: It was in 2021 when wedlock of both the founders happened in December of that year and in 2022 After the Vidhan Sabha Elections took place in punjab, Aafreen was founded.
Q. What does Rani Bagh’24 collection means to you guys?
Our Latest Collection, Rani Bagh’ 24 holds a very special place in our heart. Each article from this collection shows different embroidery patterns that are very true to the roots of Punjab.
This collection is dedicated to All the Ranis/Queens of their times who wore such Articles with such ease that the elegance of such outfits surpassed everyone’s expectations.
Each outfit is hand embroidered with intricate work of zardozi, resham, beautiful pearls and what not and stitched with utmost care in order to preserve the royalty of those times.
Since Every Bride on her Biggest day of her life is Queen, Then she should definitely wear that resonates to that vibe
Q. How much time it took to craft one beautiful outfit from this collection?
Rani Bagh’24 offers unique type of Hand embroidery techniques whereby each outfit took around 1500-1750 hours to complete its Handwork.
The Zardozi work complimented with pearl work and sequin work reflects the true royalty of Punjab.
Each Article can be worn at any corner of this planet for a bride’s wedding since it has modern touch with Antique style that Also includes large variety of options for brides to pick.
Q. Tell us more about your team and how you guys have done the launch?
Rani Bagh’24 is itself a Grand Launch that every bride already has an eye on it. The crew during the shoot consists of 94 people where each department was taken care of by the professionals of their zone.
MANIK SHARMA who is an ace photographer of our industry in punjab also directed our campaign is a person to watch out for, he had a vision in terms of what exactly should be potrayed without compromising on even a single thing.
Mark our words, HE IS GOING TO CREATE HISTORY ONE DAY.
Our campaign was no less than a movie, we had our own production house, Art directors, DOP’s, Music producers, stylists, Drapists, makeup Team which was headed by Navneet herself, BTS makers, Makeup shoot people, costume designers for junior artists(fillers) and what not.
Q. Other than Manik, which collaboration you would love to highlight ?
The collaborator that you all should watch-out for are the jewellers who agreed to source their jewellery for an All night shoot (from 6:00 Pm to 5:00 Am), Shri Paramani Jewels who also curated beautiful jewellery for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series, HEERAMANDI.
Q. What’s that one thing Aafreen focus on ?
Our brand only focus on quality work whereby quality can only be brought into reality with Hardwork.
Therefore, only Hand embroidered techniques have been used to create such beautiful Articles. In handwork Ancient techniques are laid on our articles that brings out the beauty to its core.
